Celebrating Veriditas

(for Hildegard von Bingen)

Spring Fever’s got me watching the

wind direct microcosms

Pollen blows from here to there,

leaves scatter from late-shedding trees,

to mingle with man made debris.

Flies and bees awaken

to the sound of the greening,

in the calling, in the echo of the

departing night,

Chronus springs forward.

The white light winter nights

are melting away

and there seems to be

little time for sleeping

with so much to give breath to.

The season is changing,

is greening,

is turning over new leaves

and fresh blossoms of pink,

yellow and white,

and sending out its message

through the sound

of day long rainfalls,

through the scent of freshly – mown perfume,

and royal green blades upright glow.
